I've had two life long love affairs; one with the natural world and the other, with art. After years of travel that culminated in hiking the Appalachian Trail, I’ve made my home in the Great North Woods of New Jersey. I find peace in the woods where natural beauty never fails to inspire. One day while hiking, I came upon a beautiful piece of mountain driftwood and, given my many years of dabbling in the arts, from Fine to walking staffs and jewelry, I couldn’t help but wonder how I could balance a piece of glass on it to create a table. Thought, determination, and precision brought success. Since then I've created numerous other pieces, each one of a kind and unique. Some of my pieces are made from what I find exclusively in nature. Others are complimented with the constructs of local artisans and fabricators. I make a variety of pieces depending on what I find. I can browse saw mills for hours. The possibilities are endless. My signature coffee tables are made from different species of live edged wood I buy from various mills. I finish the flat surfaces and leave the edges natural. All of the component parts are stainless steel made by fellow crafters, special for the piece. I design templates for a local fabricator’s use when creating the glass tops that mirror each wood base. The result is a highly functional, locally fashioned and meticulously constructed, one of a kind piece. Pricing is based on time invested to design, fashion, and construct and materials involved.
